MANILA, Philippines – At the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Hewlett-Packard (HP) unveiled a pair of new miniature desktop PCs under its Stream and Pavilion lineup.

On one end of the spectrum is the US$180 Stream Mini Desktop, while those looking for slightly more power can invest in the $320 Pavilion Mini Desktop. Both weigh in at approximately 1.6 pounds and look a bit like two-inch-high cubes packed with computing power for daily use.

The Stream Mini runs on an Intel Celeron 2957U processor, has 2GB of RAM, and carries a 32-gigabyte solid-state drive (SSD). Meanwhile, the PavilionMini uses an Intel Pentium 3558U processor, comes with 4GB of RAM, and takes advantage of a 500GB hard disk drive (HDD) instead of an SSD.

Both come with an audio jack, HDMI and DisplayPort sockets, and 4 USB 3.0 ports. As such, these mini-PCs can support dual-monitor setups, assuming that your monitors support use HDMI and DisplayPort capabilities. The package also comes bundled with a keyboard and mouse.

Both the Pavilion Mini and Stream Mini desktops are expected to be available in the US on January 14, with select retailers offering the machines on February 8. – Rappler.com
