4 killed, 12 injured in Peshawar blast
PESHAWAR, Pakistan - At least 4 people were killed and 12 others injured when a remote-controlled bomb hit a police vehicle in Pakistan's northwest city of Peshawar on Saturday morning, Xinhua reported Saturday, May 12.
The blast took place at about 9:00 am local time, according to Xinhua, when a remote-controlled bomb hit a police vehicle passing by in the Gulbahar area of Peshawar, the largest city in northwest Pakistan.
At least one policeman was killed and several women were injured in the blast, the report said, quoting local media. The blast also destroyed 5 vehicles.
All the injured have been rushed to Lady Reading Hospital in the city, where at least 4 critically injured people eventually died.
Security forces have cordoned off the area following the blast and a search operation is underway.
