READ: PH bet Catriona Gray’s inspiring Miss World QnA

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines’ Catriona Gray may not have won the Miss World title, but she answered her final question at coronation night like a queen.

Catriona made it to the Top 5 of the Miss World pageant on Sunday, December 18 in the US.

The finalists were asked different questions by former Miss World titleholders and judges, and it was Miss World 2015, Spain’s Mireia Lalaguna, who asked Catriona, “Which qualities do you think it will take to wear my crown?”

Catriona answered:

“I think first of all, it takes bravery. To be a Miss World is to carry a burning torch. It is like action carried out by one to illuminate the lives of many. And I would dedicate my whole self, my love for the arts, and my voice to trying to uplift, empower, and educate people. And it would be my greatest honor and duty to hold this torch high enough so that all the world could feel and see its light.”

Mireia crowned Miss Puerto Rico Stephanie del Valle her successor that night at the MGM National Harbor in Maryland, USA.

In second place was Dominican Republic’s Yaritza Miguelina Reyes Ramírez, and in 3rd was Indonesia’s Natasha Mannuela.

Aside from making it to the Top 5, Catriona also won the Multimedia pre-pageant challenge, which ensured her a spot in the Top 20. – Rappler.com
