Rachelle Ann Go cast as Fantine in West End’s ‘Les Miserables’

MANILA, Philippines – She dreamed the dream, and now it has come true. Singer and West End actress Rachelle Ann Go will play Fantine in the London West End production of Les Miserables.

According to the production’s official website, she will take on the rule starting June 15. Other new cast members joining her will be Jeremy Secomb (Javert), Phil Daniels, and Katy Secombe (the Thenadiers).

In Les Mis, Fantine struggles to care for her young daughter Cosette, and is forced into prostitution to earn a living. She sings the famous song “I Dreamed a Dream.”

Les Miserables is based on the novel of the same name by Victor Hugo.

Lea Salonga, who played Eponine in the Broadway production of the play in 1993, congratulated Rachelle on Twitter:

Rachelle was previously in West End’s Miss Saigon, where she played Gigi Van Tranh. Her portrayal of the said character has earned her numerous accolades.
