#ThinkPH 2017: Understanding the ‘algorhythm’ of humanity and technology
Our annual tech summit returns July 15. Tickets are now on sale

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) — When the futurist Yuri Van Geest predicted during #ThinkPH 2016 that machines would render most jobs obsolete in the next 5 years, he wasn’t exaggerating.

Just here at home, the Philippine government announced early this year that 48% of jobs here will soon be affected by automation, or the assignment of jobs and tasks to machines and computer-helmed systems.

How will we thrive in this kind of world? On top of understanding technology, we must choose the path ahead, says Rob Nail, CEO and associate founder of Singularity University.

And it’s not just about jobs. How do we raise children in a world run by technology 24/7? How will robots and nano devices affect how we approach healing and well-being? How will computers push our capabilities in architecture, art, music, or film?

These are important questions for any student, entrepreneur, or innovator. Harnessing tools of disruption won’t be enough. As technology continues to evolve at an exponential scale, we must learn to adapt how we approach problems.

Still, we must craft solutions without losing touch of the very things that make us human: compassion, vision, and creativity.

On July 15, Rappler’s annual tech summit, #ThinkPH, returns for its 4th year.

Together with an internationally-acclaimed panel of tech experts and thought leaders, we’ll tackle “Algorhythm:” how humanity has become in sync with technology, and what this dynamic collaboration means for individuals and businesses who want to make a lasting and relevant impact on the world.

Our speakers include futurist and Intelligencr founder Paul Papadimitriou, Simon Kemp of We Are Social, Bianca Gonzalez, Jonathan Yabut, Apprentice Asia’s Grand Winner, and more. View the full agenda and lineup here

#ThinkPH 2017 will be held at the SMX Convention Center – our biggest venue ever. We’ll also be launching the XChange Fair, a space for delegates to learn and collaborate with our different summit partners.

Join us for a day of learning the latest tech trends, listening to thought-provoking discussions, and interacting with our community of schools, startups, and leading companies from around the country.
