(UPDATED) MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has lifted all storm signals as tropical storm Dindo (international codename: Doksuri) was expected to exit the country Friday morning, June 29.

In its 5 am update Friday, Pagasa said Dindo is now over the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea) and is moving away from the Philippines in a west northwest direction at 19 kilometers per hour (kph).

It is packing maximum winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph, Pagasa said.

By Saturday morning, Dindo is expected to be 615 km west northwest of Laoag City.

Still, Pagasa said it expects the storm to enhance the southwest monsoon that will likely bring rains over central and southern Luzon and Visayas, especially the western section. The state weather bureau also warned against possible landslides and flash floods.

Pagasa added the combined effects of Dindo and the southwest monsoon will make it dangerous for fishing boats and other small vessels to venture out into Luzon seaboards.

Pagasa will issue another weather bulletin at 11 a.m. — Rappler.com
