MANILA, Philippines – Tropical Storm Queenie has maintained strength as it moves away from the country, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

At 4 pm Friday, November 28, the center of the tropical storm was located at 420 km west northwest of Puerto Princesa City, with maximum sustained winds of 65 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 km per hour. 

It will move west northwest in direction at 26 km per hour with an estimated rainfall amount of 7 to 15 mm per hour (moderate-heavy) within the 400 km diameter of the tropical storm. 

All public storm warning signals have been lifted. Fisherfolks should avoid venturing out over the western seaboard of Palawan.

Queenie is expected to leave the western border of the Philippine Area of Responsibility between 6 pm and 7 pm Friday.

By Saturday afternoon, November 29, it will be at 1,020 km west northwest of Puerto Princesa City and at 1,725 km west northwest of Puerto Princesa City or in the vicinity of Cambodia by Sunday afternoon, November 30.

Meanwhile, the low pressure area spotted earlier was located at 480 km east of General Santos City.
