Welcome the newest members of the ton!

Netflix announced on Monday, April 6 that four actors will be added to Bridgerton’s second season.

“Charithra Chandra will play Edwina Sharma, Kate’s younger sister and Shelley Conn will play Mary Sharma, Kate’s mother.

“Also say hello to Calam Lynch who will play Theo Sharpe and Rupert Young who will play Jack,” Netflix wrote.

Bridgerton’s official Twitter account also confirmed the news: “Dear Readers, it seems we have a few new faces in the Ton. Do try your best to welcome them generously. I know I certainly will…”

News of the casting comes just days after it was revealed that Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page will not return for the show’s second season.

“An honor to be a member of the family – on and off screen, cast, crew, and incredible fans – the love is real and will just keep growing,” Page, who played royal Simon Basset on the hit period drama series, said on his Twitter account.

Created by Shonda Rimes, Bridgerton is a romantic, cheeky series set during the Regency Period in London that follows Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and her family as she makes her high-society debut in the competitive marriage market.

The series is based on Julia Quinn’s novel, The Duke and I, the first of eight in a series. – Rappler.com
