Get to know the author of Crying in H Mart and frontman of indie rock band Japanese Breakfast in a night filled with conversations about art, grief, love, and Korean food. An interview by local independent singer-songwriter Reese Lansangan, Fully Booked Chats with Michelle Zauner is set to stream on Fully Booked’s channels on December 17 at 6 pm.

Michelle Zauner is best known as a singer and guitarist who creates dreamy, shoegaze-inspired indie-pop under the name Japanese Breakfast. She has won acclaim from major music outlets around the world for releases like Psychopomp (2016) and Soft Sounds from Another Planet (2017).

In her debut book, musician Zauner allows readers into her personal and private narratives – of growing up in Eugene, Oregon, flying to Seoul for summer vacations, and struggling with her relationship with her parents and her biracial identity. Crying in H Mart is a memoir that shares Zauner’s moving story of family, food, grief, and endurance.
