MANILA, Philippines – This year, the television will be 85 years old. In that human lifetime, it has evolved by leaps and bounds. 

The first TV set arrived in the Philippines in 1953. It changed the landscape of information and entertainment in the country.

In Brave New World, Alduous Huxley predicted a future where the“television was left on, a running tap, from morning till night.” While this never actually happened, there’s no denying that life without a TV set is now unthinkable, especially in Filipino homes.
