Why we drink beer

MANILA, Philippines – The classic Filipino inuman – where every milestone is celebrated no matter how big or small.

This tradition has become part of almost every Filipino family, barkada or community. A study on the alcohol drinking patterns among Filipinos revealed that drinking is embedded in the Filipino culture: 45.5% of respondents said they drink alcohol to socialize, 23.8% drink to remove stress and burden and 17.5% say they drink to be happy and gain pleasure.

More than just bonding over success stories, stressful days and broken hearts, the tradition is made more special by bringing together friends and even family wherever and whenever. Of course, no celebration is complete without a feast perfectly paired with drinks like seriously fun, ice cold beer like San Miguel Flavored Beer.

Remember the time your dad or uncle gave you the permission to taste alcohol for the first time? Or when you and your friends made a conscious decision to try your first alcoholic beverage – as if it’s your initiation to adulthood?
