DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Qatar Airways announced that it will begin its Doha-Davao route on June 18.
On its website, the state-owned airline said passengers flying to Doha from Davao can start purchasing their tickets at the special launch price of $750 (P39,030).
Qatar Airways will service the route once a week.
It will become the 11th airline to fly to Davao City and the 4th international carrier to do so after XiamenAir, Cathay Dragon, and SilkAir.
Qatar Airways said travelers flying from Davao to Doha can easily fly to about 160 other destinations worldwide.

Qatar Airways, which was founded in 1993, is a member of the Oneworld Alliance and has a fleet of over 200 aircraft.
The airline, headed by chief executive officer Akbar Al Baker, has been positioning itself as the carrier of choice in the run-up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which the tiny peninsular Arab country of 2.63 million will be hosting.
In May alone, it launched 3 routes from Doha:
- Izmir, Turkey – began May 23, thrice a week
- Malta – began May 23, daily
- Rabat, Morocco – began May 29, thrice a week
Qatar Airways said 3 more routes from Doha will be opened in the coming months:
- Lisbon, Portugal – starting June 24, daily
- Mogadishu, Somalia – starting July 1, thrice a week
- Langkawi, Malaysia – starting October 15, thrice a week
