MANILA, Philippines – The World Bank remains optimistic on Public Private Partnerships or PPPs, the centerpiece of the Aquino government’s development goals, despite changes in public funding strategy.

“We’re not worried about the delays,” Bert Hofman, chief economist for World Bank – East Asia and Pacific, said on October 27, 2011 at the sidelines of a press conference during the Manila visit of bank president Robert Zoellick.
