LIVE BLOG: How the Sin Tax reform bill is doing in Congress

MANILA, Philippines – Lawmakers at the House of Representatives are deliberating a crucial reform bill on the excise tax system for “sin” products, including cigarettes and alcohol.

Palace-backed House Bill 5727, which aims to rationalize the current sin tax system and raise revenues, is now on its third reading, inching closer to being passed.
