Facebook’s Saverin, world tycoons in Manila

BIGGEST CEO CONFERENCE. This is the first time Forbes Global CEO is being held in Manila

MANILA, Philippines  Around 400 of the world’s top business leaders  including Pacific Century Group’s Richard Li and Facebook’s Eduardo Saverin  are in town Monday, October 12 for the 15th Forbes Global CEO Conference, which is focused on visionary leadership.

This is the first time that Forbes Global CEO Conference is being held in Manila. The largest CEO conference has been held in various cities including Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Shanghai, and Bali. (Check here for the rest of the 3-day conference’s program.)

This year’s conference  with the theme Toward a Winning Vision “focuses on visionary leadership or how leaders at the helm of great companies conceive and articulate vivid visions that capture the imagination of their teams, inspire confidence among investors, and win the hearts and minds of consumers.”

Leaders of some of the Philippines’ top conglomerates were also invited to take part in panel discussions throughout the 3-day conference until October 14.

Some of them are Teresita Sy-Coson, vice chairperson of SM Investments Corporation; Enrique K. Razon Jr, chairman of the board and president of International Container Terminal Services, Incorporated; Ramon S. Ang, president and COO of diversified conglomerate San Miguel Corporation; as well as Manuel B. Villar Sr, chairman of the board of Vista Land & Lifescapes, Incorporated.

The conference is being held at Razon’s turf at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque. Razon is also the chairman and CEO of Bloomberry Resorts Corporation, which is the operator of Solaire.

At the grand closing of #FGCEO2015, Philippine President Benigno Aquino III will engage in a one-on-one dialogue with Steve Forbes, chairman and editor-in-chief of Forbes Media. Aquino and Forbes will discuss the Philippine economy and global economic issues, among others.

Some of the business tycoons who will grace the 15th Forbes Global CEO Conference are Fosun International Vice-Chairman and CEO Liang Xinjun; GEOX Group Chairman Mario Moretti Polegato; Forbes Media President and CEO Mike Perlis; and Ayala Corporation Chairman and CEO Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala.

Other notable speakers include GrabTaxi Group CEO Anthony Tan; Garena Chairman and Group CEO Forrest Li; as well as Berjaya Group Founder Vincent Tan.

The annual event provides a platform for CEOs, entrepreneurs, tycoons and thought leaders to build vital relationships as well as discuss and debate issues of global concern.
