BSP sees hotter inflation in November

Ralf Rivas

Economists of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) projected inflation rising between 7.4% and 8.2% in November.

If the upper end of the forecast is hit, it would be higher than the 7.7% inflation rate in October, which is already the highest in nearly 14 years.

The BSP said inflation will “gradually decelerate” in the succeeding months as cost-push shocks due to bad weather and transport fare adjustments dissipate.

The BSP has tightened monetary policy this year following the hawkish moves of the US Federal Reserve.
