PPA bidding out P301-M port rehab contracts
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is inviting investors to participate in the bidding for 6 port projects in the country worth P301 million.
Ports to be rehabilitated include those in Tacloban City (Leyte), Cagayan de Oro City, Batangas, Camiguin, Dingalan (Aurora), and Nasipit (Agusan del Norte).
Approved budgets and improvements required for each port are as follows:
- Tacloban port
Removal of portions of wharf deck, beams, walls, and exiting pavement; construction of RoRo ramp and containment area, among others
- Cagayan de Oro port
Construction of an office
- Batangas port
Construction of 3 additional RoRo ramps
- Camiguin port
Removal of debris, reclamation of back-up area, construction of bulkhead and RoRo ramp, among others
- Dingalan, Aurora port
Extension of RoRo ramp
- Nasipit, Agusan del Norte port
Improvement of check-in lounge, x-ray area, pre-departure area, view deck, ticket booth, and comfort rooms
PPA set the deadline for submitting bid proposals for the rehabilitation of the ports on November 22. The bid documents will be opened on the same day.
The pre-bid conference, meanwhile, is scheduled on November 8. – Rappler.com
