Zambales towns to have 11-hour power outage

OLONGAPO CITY, Philippines – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced that parts of Zambales would experience 3 to 11 hours of power interruption on Thursday, May 8.

Ernest Lorenz Vidal, National Grid Corporation of the Philippines Central Luzon corporate communication and public affairs officer, said the power outage is due to maintenance work on some power structures under the Zambales I Electric Cooperative (Zameco I).

“Reason of brownout is to facilitate replacement of metering structures of three current transformers at Candelaria Substation. Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion,” Vidal said.

He said Zameco 1 customers in parts of Masinloc, and the towns of Iba and Palauig will have no power from 7 am to 6 pm on Thursday.

Other parts of Zambales will experience a 3-hour power outage from 7 am to 10 am on Thursday,  including areas in Masinloc, and the towns of Candelaria and Santa Cruz. – Rappler.com
