Filipino billionaire Lucio Tan has been hospitalized due to COVID-19, his daughter Vivienne Tan confirmed late Saturday evening, April 17.

“He is in stable condition, responding well, and recovering,” said Vivienne in an Instagram post.

“We would like to request for some privacy at this time. Please continue to pray for his speedy recovery. Thank you.”

Tan, 86, is the chairman and chief executive officer of LT Group, MacroAsia Corporation, and PAL Holdings, the parent company of flag carrier Philippine Airlines.

The tycoon, along with his wife Carmen and children Vivienne and Michael, sit as directors of Philippine National Bank.

Tan has a net worth of $3.3 billion (P159 billion) and is the third richest Filipino, according to the 2021 Forbes ranking. – Rappler.com
