MANILA, Philippines – It was a trip down memory lane on Friday, October 9 as the cast of the 1992 Disney movie Aladdin  led by Broadway star Lea Salonga dropped by Good Morning America to talk about the movie that captivated the hearts of many 23 years ago. In an interview on the show, the creators of the movie shared never-before-seen footage of Robin Williams voicing Genie. The actor died in August 2014.



Supervising animator Eric Goldberg shared some of his memories of the late actor.

Aside from him being funny as anything, he was such a warm person,” he said. 

John Musker, the film’s writer/director said: “He was the Genie, he was bigger than life.”

Lea, who did the singing voice of Princess Jasmine was present with Brad Kane who was Aladdin’s singing voice, as well as the Scott Weinger and Linda Larkin who did the speaking voices of the characters, and Jonathan Freeman, the voice behind Jafar. 

After the program, Lea posted a photo with Linda on Instagram.
