MANILA, Philippines – Following her reunion performance with Brad Kane last month, Lea Salonga performed “A Whole New World” once again, this time with Hamilton‘s Lin-Manuel Miranda during a “Ham 4 Ham” event on Wednesday, November 11.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, an award-winning actor and writer, is currently starring in the Broadway show Hamilton. He also wrote the music and lyrics, and starred in the Broadway musical In the Heights.

In “Ham 4 Ham,” Broadway stars perform for fans who are trying their luck to win the ticket lottery for Hamilton. 

Before the performance, Lea shared that she got in touch with one of Lin-Manuel’s ex-girlfriends, a friend of hers. 

“I sent her a message and asked her is there anything that I can do on Ham 4 Ham that would really knock his socks off,” Lea said. They then performed a song in a mix of English and Filipino by Lin-Manuel (sent by his ex), before launching into a cover of “A Whole New World.” 

Last September, performed the song with Darren Criss at the 2015 Elsie Fest. She also did the same song with Brad Kane last October during an appearance on Good Morning America.

Aside from being the the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in Aladdin in 1992, Lea was also the singing voice of the title character in Mulan. Lea is currently performing in the Broadway play Allegiance.  –
