MANILA, Philippines – Actress Angel Locsin was recently asked to comment on the rumored romance between ex-boyfriend Luis Manzano and Jessy Mendiola.

“Kung sila hindi nagsasalita o hindi umaamin, ako pa ba magko-comment,” she said during the Smart Padala launch Wednesday, June 29, where she was launched as the new endorser.

(If they are not talking or not admitting, should I even say anything?)

“Never naman ako nagsalita. Mas okay na rin ‘yung ganito,” she added.

(I never talked about. It’s better this way.)

She said that despite the end of her relationship with Luis, she wishes nothing but the best for him. 

“I always want him (Luis) to be happy. So [kung] happy siya, magiging happy na lang ako para sa kanya.” (If he’s happy, I’ll be happy for him)

As for how her heart is, Angel added: I’m getting there. Hindi ako magpapaka-plastik, lahat naman kasi tayong mga babae ay may prosesong ginagawa.”

(I will not be plastic, because all of us women have a process that we go through.)

In an interview with ABS-CBN released Thursday night, June 30, Jessy spoke up about the issue, saying she does not see anything wrong with her and Luis being good friends and going out as a group.

“I am not the type naman to be so cautious about it or be so scared na makita ako ng ibang tao sa labas kasi  (for me to be seen with other people outside because) I am single. I don’t have any problems with going out with other people,” she said.

“I really appreciate the fact na he has always been there for me as a friend, as himself. He’s a very good guy. Wala naman ako masasabi kasi alam naman natin (I have have nothing to say becauuse) na whatever I say or do will be taken against me. Maraming masasabi ang mga tao. (People will say things.) It is what it is. What you see is what you get.”

Health update and Darna

Meanwhile, Angel said that she is now doing better and going through more therapy for her back after undergoing surgery in Singapore.

“Okay naman. Pwede na ako mag-level up sa therapy na ginagawa ko. Maganda yung therapy na ginagawa namin. Maganda yung resulta […] so mukhang gumagaling na tayo,” she said.

(i’m okay. I can level up the therapy I’m doing. The therapy we’re doing is very good. The results are great…so it looks like I’m already getting better.)

Angel said that she’s set to go back to Singapore for an assessment.

As for the continuing clamor of her fans her to play the role of Darna in the movie despite her announcement last year she was backing out of the project, Angel said:  “Actually sobrang hirap sagutin kung paano dahil alam naman nila gaano ko ka gusto yung project talaga, kung gaano kamahal ‘yung proyekto.

(Actually, it’s really difficult to answer because they know how much I like the project, how I love the project.)

“But ang hirap kasi after nung interview ko, triny ko talaga siyang kalimutan, sobrang depressed talaga ako at that time. Kung sakali naman ibigay muli dapat magpagaling muna ako. Ayusin ko muna yung sarili ko para gawin ko nang tama […]kung ibibigay sa akin eh para sa akin iyon, kung hindi man, hindi para sa akin iyon,” she said.
