MANILA, Philippines – In the highlight of an already highly anticipated evening, singer and theater actress Rachelle Ann Go surprised stunned audiences with two song numbers at the H&M store opening event Wednesday, October 15.
She made her grand entrance by going down the escalator as her name was announced by host Tim Yap, and later performed Lorde’s “Royals” and “Break Free” by Ariana Grande.
“I’m actually here for just a couple of nights to do this show,” she said, thanking the brand for flying her to the Philippines.
“We actually finalized it last Sunday…and I actually missed 5 shows!” she said, on securing permission for her to fly back home. Watch the clips below:
Shoppers and attendees cheered her on, before exploring the rest of the mammoth flagship store – over 3,000 square meters, and 3 floors of clothes, shoes, and accessories. The guests for the special event included Vanessa Matsunaga, the Magalona siblings, Kim Jones, Raymond Gutierrez, Ruffa Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama, among many others.

Also in attendance was H&M’s Swedish CEO Karl-Johann Persson, who told Rappler that he arrived in Manila earlier today, October 15, to attend the event. (READ: H&M CEO on opening first PH store: What took them so long?)
Fans recently saw Rachelle Ann performing alongside the great Lea Salonga at Miss Saigon’s 25th anniversary celebrations earlier this month. She is currently playing Gigi on the West End stage.
