All set for Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera ‘Royal Wedding’

MANILA, Philippines – Hours from now, GMA 7 stars Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera will officially become husband and wife. The couple’s “Royal Wedding” is the much-awaited event their fans have been looking forward to.

The wedding will be held Tuesday afternoon, December 30 at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao at around 2:28pm. (READ: Dingdong, Marian to marry in December)

The couple got engaged last August when Dingdong proposed to Marian on her TV show. It was later revealed that Dingdong proposed to Marian in Macau in 2012.

Prior to the wedding, Dingdong and Marian had several bridal showers and stag parties given by friends, family, and colleagues. Their pre-nuptial video and photos were also released.

Dubai-based designer Michael Cinco flew in to personally dress Marian for her wedding day. 

Dingdong will wear a suit by designer Randy Ortiz.

Marian’s father Francisco Javier Gracia also arrived last week. Dingdong personally picked him up from the airport.

Hours before the wedding, Ana Feleo, Marian’s maid of honor posted photos of the couple’s last minute preparations.

 

 

Roxanne Barcelo also shared a photo and a short clip of Marian and her father practicing their dance together.

  

 

In an interview aired on Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho Sunday, December 28, Marian said that back when she and Dingdong were doing their primetime teleseryes Marimar and Dyesebel, she never expected him to be her boyfriend.

“Medyo nawiweirduhan ako sa kanya kasi lahat ng hindi ko gusto makita, nakikita ko sa kanya. At hindi ko talaga ini-expect na magiging boyfriend ko at magiging asawa ko siya.” 

(I really feel weird around him, because all the qualities I did not want to see, I saw it in him. And I really did not expect he will be become my boyfriend and my husband.)

Dingdong said that during the course of their working relationship, they saw each other’s personalities.

“So ang kagandahan sa amin nakita at nakilala namin kung sino kami na walang halong pagkukunwari. Magkasama kami sa mga worst times namin, magkasama kami during our best times. Malalaman at makikilala mo ang tao kung kamusta siya under pressure.

Dahil doon sa processing iyon…feeling iyon yung stage na parang that’s our way of courtship, getting to know each other that way, and from there, when we realized na napapasaya namin ang isa’t isa binigyan namin ng desisyon na sige ‘subukan natin’,” Dingdong said.

(What is nice with us is that we saw and found ourselves, getting to know each other without pretending. We were together through our worst times, we were together through best times. You will know the person more when you’re under pressure.

From that process, I felt it was our way of courtship, getting to know each other that way, and from there when we realized we make each other happy, we made the decision and said ‘let’s give it a chance.’)
