MANILA, Philippines – Actress and Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez  said she is is proud but nervous when it comes to niece Teresita “Wynwyn” Marquez’s participation in Bb. Pilipinas 2015. (IN PHOTOS: Official swimsuit photos, Bb Pilipinas 2015)

“Actually ako ang nenerbyos pero  (I am the one very nervous but ) you know, I believe that she has the grace, and I told her to claim the crown as a beauty queen,” Melanie told reporters during the press presentation of the candidates Tuesday, February 17.

“Sabi ko [to Wynwyn] just be natural, and she’s so sweet. Just be yourself. And always remember to claim the crown, be like a queen.”

As for other tips, Melanie said that she only gave her niece minimal pointers since Wynwyn’s walk is very good. 

If Wynwyn fails to get a crown, Melanie said” “Sabi ko kay (I told ) Wyn if they don’t pick you, it’s their loss, not yours,” she laughed.

Asked if Wynwyn has an advantage because she has someone like her to look up to, Melanie said: “Malaking factor na Marquez siya. Nandoon yung personality ng kuya ko (Joey Marquez) and nung mother niya si Alma (Moreno)… meron siyang originality, which is one thing I like. (It’s a big factor that she is a Marquez. The personality of my brother (Joey) is there, and her mother Alma…she is also has originality, which is one thing I like.
