Marjorie Barretto on Claudine: ‘It’s been long, it is special’

MANILA, Philippines – Things seem to be improving further between sisters Marjorie and Claudine Barretto. 

The two were spotted together at the debut of Marjorie’s daughter Julia Tuesday, March 10 at Makati Shangri-La Hotel. (IN PHOTOS: Celebrity guests attend grand Julia Barretto debut)

The photo of them together, taken by Mychos.com was immediately retweeted by many on social media. 

In an interview with ABS-CBN before Julia’s party, Marjorie said that she knew Claudine was coming, and that it would be the first time that they would be face-to-face again, after not speaking to each other for a long time.

“It’s been three years ago. It’s been long. It is special,” Marjorie said.

“[We haven’t seen each other yet], I don’t how to feel about it. But it’s fine. I knew from the start that she was going to attend. It’s nice of her to attend, to grant Julia’s wish. It’s really nice of her.” 

Marjorie was also photographed with parents Miguel and Inday Barretto. Fans will remember that Marjorie is also estranged from her mom.

Roviel Castor, Claudine’s makeup artist shared an Instavideo where the actress said she was extremely happy to attend the party.

Marjorie and Claudine had conflicts in the past years, the most recent when Marjorie along with sister Gretchen and brother Jayjay sided with Claudine’s estranged husband Raymart Santiago over Claudine’s alleged use of drugs in 2013. (READ: Gretchen: ‘Claudine confined for drug abuse’)

Miguel and Inday sided with Claudine over the issue and even reprimanded them, which led to their estrangement from the family.

In an interview on The Buzz Sunday, March 8, Julia said she has always been in touch with Claudine despite the rift in the family.

Despite the issues, Julia was optimistic that her family would set aside their differences. She was emotional as she embraced her aunt Claudine, and her grandfather Miguel. 

   

 

 

 

 

For Marjorie, what is important is that Julia enters her new life as a grown-up without too much baggage from the past. She also said it was good to have a family picture again.

Gretchen meanwhile was unable to attend the party as she left Monday, March 9 for London to be with daughter Dominique. –Rappler.com
