MANILA, Philippines – Storm Gener did not stop participants of this year’s Cinemalaya festival from trooping to the Cultural Center of the Philippines on July 29, 7pm, for the awards night.

Here is the list of winners:

I. Short Feature Category

1. Best Screenplay – Sigrid Andrea Bernardo (Paghihintay sa Bulong)

2. Best Direction – Sheron Dayoc (As He Sleeps)

3. Special Jury Prize – Manenaya (Richard Legaspi, director)

The week-long festival was held from July 20-29 at three main venues: CCP in Manila, Greenbelt in Makati and TriNoma in Quezon City. A total of 25 new films competed for top honors; 60 were showcased in various exhibition sections.
