MANILA, Philippines – Jason David Frank, who was best known for his role as the Green/White Ranger in the Power Rangers franchise, has died. He was 49. 

Frank’s death was confirmed to the Associated Press and Entertainment Weekly by his manager Justine Hunt on Sunday, November 20. 

Further details about his passing were not given. “Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being,” Hunt said in a statement. 

Frank was initially introduced as the antagonist Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger, in the original 1993 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. Initially slated for a limited appearance, Frank’s character became a fan favorite that he was brought back to the series and transformed into the White Ranger.

He reprised his role in several Power Rangers projects, including Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers Turbo, Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, Power Rangers Dino Thunder, and Power Rangers Ninja Steel.
