Movies playing this week: ‘Rurouni Kenshin,’ Dementia’ and more

MANILA, Philippines – A  Japanese warrior finds himself faced with a choice to kill or be killed, and a woman’s presence in an ancestral home brings disturbing visions. Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends and Dementia lead this week’s line-up of movies at the cinemas.

 

Kenshin Himura faces his biggest battle with Makoto Shishio. The former assassin must also make a choice if he will kill again or keep his vow never to take another person’s life. 

Dementia

Nora Aunor stars as Mara Fabre, who is diagnosed with dementia. Her family takes her to their ancestral home, where she starts seeing visions no one else can see. 

A young real estate agent named Leigh is asked to sell a house with a disturbing history. She crosses paths with a girl, whom she learns is the daughter of the former owners of the property. When Leigh helps her out, she finds herself and her sister Vera in danger.

   

Michael Douglas stars as Oren Little, a man whose life is turned upside down with the arrival of his granddaughter from his estranged son. He turns to his neighbor Leah (Diane Keaton) for help in caring for his granddaughter and slowly learns to open his heart. 

Former race car driver Peter Roberts (Thomas Jane) is forced to become the driver of a thief (John Cusack).

 

Starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth, the movie tells the story of Eric Lomax, a British Army officer, who discovers that the Japanese interpreter whom he holds responsible for his tormented past is still alive.

 

What was suppose to be a happy event turns to a nightmare when a series of apocalyptic events starts happening around the world.
