Chai Fonacier cast in upcoming thriller ‘Nocebo’ alongside Eva Green and Mark Strong

Chai Fonacier has been cast in the upcoming psychological thriller Nocebo, alongside Hollywood stars Eva Green and Mark Strong.

According to Variety, Chai is playing the role of a Filipino caregiver who uses folk medicine to help heal Eva’s character, a fashion designer suffering from a puzzling illness. Mark plays Eva’s husband. 

The film, set between London and Manila, is directed by Vivarium director Lorcan Finnegan, and written by Garret Shanley. Producers include Emily Leo, Brunella Cocchiglia, and Philippines-based producers Bianca Balbuena and Bradley Liew.

In a previous Facebook post, Bianca said that Chai left for Dublin to work on the film on February 15, after a months-long process of securing work visas and other documents.

Chai is an award-winning actress who has appeared in films such as Patay na si Hesus and Respeto, as well as the film and series adaptation of Born Beautiful.

Eva is an iconic French actress, debuting in the 2003 Bertolucci film The Dreamers, and going on to become a Bond Girl, playing Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale. In more recent years she appeared in the series Penny Dreadful, in a performance that earned her a Golden Globe nomination.

BAFTA-nominated Strong is known for his performances in films such as Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Shazam, Sherlock Holmes, and the Kingsman films. He is also part of the upcoming Cruella film, starring Emma Stone. – Rappler.com
