Award-winning documentary Sunday Beauty Queen is set to premiere on Netflix on August 15.

The 2016 documentary directed by Babyruth Villarama follows the lives of overseas Filipino workers in Hong Kong who cope with the challenges they face by preparing for an annual beauty pageant. 

The film won Best Picture at the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival, Best International Documentary at the 2017 London Labour Film Festival, and Best Documentary at the 2017 Gawad Urian Awards. It is also currently available on TBA Studios’ YouTube channel.

Also premiering on Netflix on August 15 is Bliss, the psychological thriller starring Iza Calzado and directed by Jerrold Tarog.
