‘Felix Manalo’ movie premiere sets two new world records

MANILA, Philippines – The world premiere of the movie Felix Manalo at the Philippine Arena on Sunday, October 4 broke two new records, according to a report from Iglesia ni Cristo station Net 25 and Viva Films, which produced the movie.

Felix Manalo now holds the World Record for the “Largest Attendance For A Film Screening” and “Largest Attendance For A Film Premiere.” According to an Instagram post from Viva Films, the premiere was attended by 43,624 people. (IN PHOTOS: Celebrities at the ‘Felix Manalo’ movie premiere)

Viva Films also posted screengrabs from Eagle News, showing representatives for the Guinness World Records handing the certificates to the members of Iglesia ni Cristo and Viva executives. Lead stars Dennis Trillo and Bela Padilla were also in attendance.

According to the Guinness World Records website, the largest attendance for a film screening was previously from the United States, where 28,422 attended the screening of a documentary called Honor Flight in 2012.

Felix Manalo tells the story of the founder of the Iglesia ni Cristo. The trailer, which was first shown last August, shows Manalo’s life from his days as a young boy to the establishment of the INC. 

Directed by Joel Lamangan, Felix Manalo opens on October 7. – Rappler.com
