MANILA, Philippines – On December 31, Celine Dion made Adele part of her and her audience's New Year's Eve when she sang Adele's hit song "Hello." (WATCH: Adele, Jimmy Fallon, and The Roots sing 'Hello' with classroom instruments)
"So don't panic, she's not in the building," said Celine, after her audience cheered enthusiastically at the mention of Adele.
"Do we need to change the battery? My microphone lost it a little bit. Adele, hello? Hello?" she continued before launching into the song.
This isn't the first time Celine's covered an Adele song. In 2012, she sang "Rolling in the Deep" at another performance saying, "I love Adele so much, she's amazing."
Celine performed Adele's "Hello" at her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum, which she returned to in August. She took a break from the residency in August 2014 to take care of her husband, René Angélil, who has throat cancer.
Celine is one of many musicians who covered "Hello" in 2015. After the song was released on October 22, artists like Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas have covered it, Britney Spears has danced to it, and young musicians have done viral covers of the song as well. "Hello" is part of Adele's album 25, which was released in November. It's her first album in 4 years.
