MANILA, Philippines – She may not have won a crown, but Teresita Ssen “Wynwyn” Marquez was certainly a crowd favorite at the Bb Pilipinas 2015 coronation night, Sunday, March 15. 

She topped an independent Rappler poll with a majority of 38.92% of the votes. 

Rappler readers who opted to vote on the online poll were asked who should win the pageant’s top prize, the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2015.

The poll was launched after the announcement of the top 15 at coronation night, and closed shortly after the winners were announced. It has no bearing on the actual results of the competition.

From the cheers and audience impact at the coronation night, it seemed clear that Wynwyn had many fans and celebrity supporters, including her famous parents, actors Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno, and aunt Melanie Marquez, a former Miss International.

Throughout the competition, Wynwyn also earned praise for her solid performances. “On the other hand, the latter [Wynwyn] – while middling in height – approached this pageant entry without all the pre-conceived celebrity notions about her. She created one positive impression after another along the way, regardless of the bashers who kept up with the less than pleasant remarks and potshots,” wrote pageant blogger Norman Tinio in his predictions piece, tagging Wynwyn as a possible victor.

Many social media users, including celebrity friends, expressed disappointment about the results. “Wynwyn” also trended on Twitter. Here are just a few of the tweets about her:
