Elizabeth Banks is set to direct and act in the series adaptation of the young adult fantasy novel Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard.

The series adaptation will be written by Arrow showrunner Beth Schwarts and author Victoria Aveyard and will be co-produced by Universal Television, Warner Bros. TV and Brownstone.

The main character, 17-year-old Mare Barrow, a Red commoner, will discover that she has a superpower similar to those of the Silvers. She will then be the face of a revolution as she tries to find answers about her real identity.
