LOOK: Henry Cavill returns as Geralt of Rivia in first photos from ‘The Witcher’ season 2

Geralt of Rivia is back – and he’s wearing brand new armor – in the second season of the Netflix fantasy show The Witcher.

Actor Henry Cavill shared the first stills from the show on his Instagram account on Monday, October 5.

In the stills, Henry appears as Geralt, donning a studded leather breastplate, shoulder plates, and wrist cuffs that are different from his look in the first season.

In the caption, he quoted The Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski: “‘It may turn out,’ said the white-haired man a moment later, ‘that their comrades or cronies may ask what befell these evil men. Tell them the Wolf bit them. The White Wolf. And add that they should keep glancing over their shoulders. One day they’ll look back and see the Wolf.’”

The Witcher, based on the book series of the same name, follows a monster hunter and mercenary named Geralt, a powerful sorceress named Yennefer, and a young princess named Ciri as their stories unfold across 3 separate timelines.

In the upcoming second season, their timelines merge and Geralt must battle various forces to protect Ciri, who was destined to be in his care before her birth.

Season 2 experienced production delays due to the coronavirus pandemic, but resumed filming in August. No release date has been announced, but it is expected to air in 2021. – Rappler.com
