MANILA, Philippines – Days after style icon Sarah Jessica Parker visited Manila, another fashion guru has touched down on the capital.

“Project Runway” judge and Marie Claire magazine fashion director Nina Garcia arrived yesterday to take part in the 2013 Philippine Fashion Week happening from May 22 to 26.

The Colombian fashion journalist will participate in “Jag Origins,” a forum to promote creative thinking, art and design among Filipino students. The event will be held on May 24 at the SMX Convention Center and will serve as the culmination of the “Jag Holiday 2013” fashion show.

Filipino designers Normal Noriega, Jerome Salaya Ang and Jeffrey Rogador will present special collections during the forum to put the spotlight on their own brand of Filipino artistry and craftsmanship. 

Nina will give forum participants a sneak peek into “Jag Origins 2014,” and will share her learnings from 20 years of fashion experience.

Aside from being a judge on fashion reality show “Project Runway” since the first season, Nina served as fashion director for French magazine Elle and has authored 4 books about the art of dressing. They include the best-selling “The Little Black Book of Style” (2007) and “The Style Strategy” (2009). – Rappler.com
