MANILA, Philippines – Maxine Medina emerged victorious as the new Miss Universe Philippines at the Binibining Pilipinas 2016 coronation night Sunday, April 17, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. (FULL LIST: Winners, Bb Pilipinas 2016 coronation night)

Pia Wurtzbach, the reigning Miss Universe, turned over her Binibining Pilipinas crown to Maxine.

The pressure is on as Maxine follows Pia’s footsteps. But after impressing with a stellar run in this year’s Binibining Pilipinas, she can relish in her triumph for now.
