Pia Wurtzbach, Olivia Jordan exchange touching messages as Miss USA crowned

MANILA, Philippines – After Miss USA 2015 Olivia Jordan passed the crown on to Deshauna Barber on June 5, she wrote a parting message to Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, who was her roommate for 6 months. (WATCH: ‘Kilig’ overload as Backstreet Boys perform at Miss USA pageant)

Pia took to the Miss Universe Instagram account on June 6, telling her roomate of 6 months, “Goodbyes are never easy. Olivia, I will miss you tremendously, thank you for being my Miss USA and for always being confidently beautiful and confidently YOU.”

Olivia responded by reposting the photo and thanking Pia for the time they spent together: “Thank you for inspiring me and always keeping it real.” Olivia also praised Miss Teen USA Katherine Haik in her post.

On her personal account, Pia dedicated a longer message to Olivia, who won second runner-up in the Miss Universe 2015 pageant. Olivia and Pia became good friends after the pageant, where host Steve Harvey made headlines after he announced the wrong winner.

To Olivia, Pia said: “There we were, back on the same stage and exact same spot as last year. You’ve been so gracious and supportive. You even flew to the Philippines to be a judge and watch me pass on my Miss Philippines crown. Most of all thank you for making me feel like I wasn’t alone during my down moments.”

Miss USA 2015 was in Manila in April to be a judge in the Binibining Pilipinas pageant.

After expressing her faith in Deshauna, Pia ended her message to Olivia, saying: “Fate bonded us last year and I’ll never forget your kindness. I miss you already!”
