MANILA, Philippines – Chief Justice Renato Corona made history today, May 22, by taking the witness stand during his own impeachment trial. Corona, during his opening speech then stunned the country by signing a waiver before the court that would authorize the BIR, AMLC, the SEC, and LRA to disclose to the public any and all information pertaining to his assets. He however included a condition that all 188 signatories of his impeachment complaint sign the same waiver also before he would submit his waiver. 

Corona then followed this up by walking out of the session hall, prompting Senator Juan Ponce Enrile to close all doors in the Senate and threaten a vote.
