In a statement on Sunday, February 12, Coloma narrated that he was on his way to a speaking engagement on Friday, February 10 at around 6:30 p.m. when his 2 police escorts who were on separate motorcycles caused Nocum’s vehicle to swerve.

“This incident caused undue stress and anxiety to the occupants of the vehicle, Mr. Armand Nocum, his wife and their infant child. I extend my apology to Mr. Nocum and his family,” he said.

“Only today, I learned that the motorcycle escorts accompanying my official vehicle caused another vehicle to swerve,” he said.

The 2 escorts were provided the San Mateo police, he said.
