MANILA, Philippines – It seems a lot of people are still intimidated with numbers. Even the senatorial candidates.

As future legislators, they are not only expected to be well-versed with laws, they also need a good grasp of economic issues that their proposed measures will affect. (READ: [ANALYSIS] 6 economic issues senatorial bets ought to be talking about)

However, it seems most candidates, especially those leading in the surveys, shy away from talking about numbers.

Rappler kicks off its business section’s podcast by breaking down some of the numbers candidates need to focus on. 

Anna Mogato tallied each candidates’ stand on key economic issues and finds an unlikely bet that articulated points quite well: Larry Gadon.

Aika Rey, who covers the budget, finds some proposals quite problematic and may even get people at the Department of Finance scratching their heads.
