MANILA, Philippines – Rains will persist over parts of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao for the next 24 hours, weather burea PAGASA said on Saturday afternoon, August 24.

In its 5 pm bulletin, PAGASA said the low pressure area spotted Friday is now 330 km east of Surigao City embedded along a monsoon trough affecting the said areas. 

Eastern Visayas and Surigao province will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, and the rest of  Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Luzon waters may be moderate to rough, with strong winds blowing from the southwest to south. In other areas, the wind will be light to moderate coming from the southwest to west with slight to moderate seas.– Rappler.com
