MANILA, Philippines – The whole country will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy on Wednesday, March 18, said state weather bureau PAGASA.

In its 5pm bulletin Tuesday, March 17, PAGASA said these skies will bring isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms in the next 24 hours. 

A ridge of high pressure area is affecting Northern Luzon.

As of 4 pm, Tropical Storm Bavi is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 1,435 km east of Casiguran, Aurora. It brings maximum winds of 65 km per hour near the center, and gustiness of up to 80 km per hour. 

The storm, which will be named “Betty” once it enters PAR, will move west northwest at 17 km per hour. 

Moderate to strong winds will blow from the northeast to east over Eastern Luzon, causing coastal waters that are moderate to rough .

Elsewhere, coastal seas will be slight to moderate as light to moderate winds blow from the northeast.
