MANILA, Philippines – Authorities arrested 4 more suspects in the Davao City blast in two separate operations in Cotabato City on Saturday, October 29.

Colonel Benjamin Hao, Philippine Army spokesman, said the suspects – reportedly members of the Dawla Islamiya Fi Cotabato-Maute Group – are Mohammad Lalaog Chenikandiyil alias Datu Boi, Jackson Mangulamas Usi alias Abu Mansor/Jam, Zack Villanueva Lopez alias Haron, and Ansan Abdulla Mamasapano alias Abu Hamsa.

The suspects are now under the custody of the local Philippine National Police unit.

Armed with a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, members of the Armed Forces, the Philippine National Police, and the National Intelligence Coordination Agency arrested the suspects at the Southern Philippine Development Authority compound in Barangay Tamontaka, and in Barangay Rosary Heights 7, both in Cotabato City.

Hao said authorities recovered from the suspects a caliber .45 pistol with a defaced serial number, a caliber .38 pistol, different kinds of ammunition, a handheld radio with charger, 3 pieces of 60mm mortar improvised explosive devices, a 105mm howitzer improvised explosive device, and a hand grenade.

“We will not stop until all involved in the Davao bombing incident last September are put in jail,” said Army chief Lieutenant General Eduardo M. Año.

Three suspects in the bombing were arrested on October 7, also reportedly from the Maute Group.

Authorities earlier said that more than a dozen personalties are believed to be involved in the September 2 bombing at the Davao City night market that killed at least 14 people and hurt many others. – Rappler.com
