The two candidates hold their proclamation rally in Imus, Cavite – Lacson’s hometown. Lacson and Sotto are set to hear mass at 3:30 pm inside the Imus Cathedral. At 5 pm, they will hold their proclamation rally at the Imus Grandstand.
Being the most senior candidates in their races, Lacson and Sotto put their decades of experience upfront as they call for Filipinos to cast their votes for them in May.

While the Eat Bulaga! stars electrified the crowds at the proclamation rally of presidential candidate Panfilo Lacson and running mate Vicente Sotto III on Tuesday night, February 8, most of their senatorial bets were absent.
Lacson and Sotto were proclaimed at the Imus Grandstand, gathering around 4,000 supporters, who, at the start of the program, kept their distance from each other in compliance with pandemic protocols.
The proclamation rally is important to any president-vice president tandem as it is the one-time opportunity for their campaigns to set the tone for the next three months before the elections.

From his home turf, Senator Panfilo Lacson launched his campaign for the presidency on Tuesday, February 8, counting on the vote-rich province of Cavite to boost his bid for Malacañang in May 2022.
This is Lacson’s second shot at the presidency, after first vying for the post in 2004.
Eighteen years later, Lacson is no longer just the first-time senator or former police chief who went up against former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Fernando Poe Jr. He now positions himself as a seasoned lawmaker backed by decades of experience from different positions in government that, he says, place him a notch above other candidates.

From the revolutionary grounds and vote-rich province of Cavite, Senate President Vicente Sotto III launched his bid for the vice presidency on Tuesday, February 8.
Sotto is running with longtime colleague Senator Panfilo Lacson, who takes his second shot at the presidency after first vying for the post in 2004. This is Sotto’s first official try for the vice presidency, after he was initially considered as Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s running mate in the 1998 polls.
