Though election aspirants already filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs), the list of candidates for the 2022 national elections isn’t final yet.
All eyes are on the Commission on Elections (Comelec) offices to see which candidates are withdrawing their bids and who are substituting for them.
The Comelec is accepting withdrawals and substitutions of candidacies for national positions until Monday, November 15, including Saturday, November 13, at the Palacio del Gobernador in Intramuros, Manila. In local Comelec offices, withdrawals and substitutions for local posts are also being accepted.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III is not mounting a senatorial bid, true to his word that he would not run if Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte would not seek the presidency.
Bello said on Monday, November 15, that he will continue serving as labor chief, “vowing to intensify the government’s assistance to workers.”
This morning, the department prepared a send-off of sorts for Bello, complete with tarpaulins thanking him for his service. It turned out he will not leave the Department of Labor and Employment.
