
MANILA, Philippines – The 2016 Rio Olympics Games officially started during the opening ceremonies held at the Maracana Stadium in Rio De Janeiro on Friday, August 5 (Saturday morning, Manila time).
The Philippine delegation, which includes 13 athletes, was led by table tennis player Ian Lariba, who was the country’s flag bearer during the walk and will see action on Saturday against Han Xing of Congo.
The Philippines received approximately 20 seconds of air time and was the 75th nation to walk.
