CEBU CITY, Philippines (UPDATED) – The defending champions University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers kept their title bid alive with a 77-66 Game 2 victory over the UC Webmasters Friday, October 13 at the New Cebu Coliseum to even the series at 1-1.

Game 3 will be on Sunday, October 15 at 4 pm.

Prior to Game 2, special awards in the collegiate division were given away. USJR Jaguars point guard Jaybie Mantilla bagged the prestigious Most Valuable Player award.

Also making it to the vaunted Mythical 5 along with Mantilla were UV Green Lancers shooting guard Rey Anthony Suerte and power forward Jerome Napao, UC Webmasters center Garciano “Garexx” Puerto, Jr., and USC Warriors small forward John Reel Saycon.

Napao and Tristan Ray Albina led the Green Lancers with 18 points each, while Napao also added 9 rebounds.
