MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines’ own Sinag Pilipinas swept all 6 outings in the 27th Southeast Asian Games to win the gold for the country.
Sinag capped off their spectacular and dominant run with an 84-56 shellacking of Malaysia on Sunday, December 15 at the Zeyar Thiri Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.
Sinag led by 9 points at the break, 43-34, before coming alive in the second half and burying Malaysia behind Rayray Parks’ 18 markers, as well as Jake Pascual’s and Kiefer Ravena’s combined 16 points.
The Philippines tore through the tournament and won over opponents mostly by a landslide. Their average winning margin in those 6 games was 38 points. The closest margin was at 13 points in their first match against Singapore, 88-75.
